Contact Peter Rickards Toowoomba Photographer
Brigid

Brigid and RahimMy name is Brigid and I recently married my wonderful husband Rahim on the 16th May 2009.

I first met Rahim 8 years ago when I was only 16 years old!  In the beginning he had no interest in me what so ever, but a few years later when i was 19 that all changed!  Its amazing to look back on those years and then to look at us now - Married!

When Rahim and I got engaged, I was  the happiest girl ever!  It was the best day when he proposed and I thought nothing could top that, until the amazing wedding day came along.

I can remember all the planning that went along with organising the wedding, and the best thing we ever did was start on the plans early so it wasn't too stressful.  It can be daunting when planning your wedding, the flowers, the dress, make up, reception, ceremony, photographer etc....

When I found Rickards Photography on the net, I liked the different styles and genres of photos that they took so I decided to give them a call.  Compared to the other companies I had phoned, Peter Rickards was the loveliest, warmest person I had spoken to.  It was so refreshing to speak to some one who actually cared about me and my wedding rather than business jargan. We immediatley decided to meet with him at his home studio in Toowoomba.  It was at this meeting that Peter and his lovely wife Sue offered a pre - wedding photo shoot at our home, so that we could see if we were happy with the pics they took.  We were very impressed with this service and I had not been offered that from any of the other photographers we had looked at.

The day of the pre-wedding shoot was an absolute hoot!  Peter and Sue were really kind and made us feel at ease infront of the camera.  Peter made us laugh constantly and Sue added that female touch, fixing my hair and making us smile.  They even took some photos of us with our 2 dogs - one of which is now hanging on the living room wall!

I am the youngest of 12 children believe it or not, so on the wedding day by my side I had 4 of my big sisters and my best friend all as my bridesmaids.  I also had 2 of my nieces as my beautiful flower girls.  I had one sister who lives all the way in Norway who suprised me and turned up on the mornig of the wedding!  So amazing to see her.

We started the day with hair and make up, and as per my request, MacDonalds breakfast!!!  It was such a great morning, loads of laughter and chatter - and a few butterflies!  Peter and Sue turned up nice and early to the hair studio where they descreetly took loads of pics.  These photos are so much fun to look at now, all of us getting ready.  I didn't even notice them there.  They just seemed to fit in with us so well.  Now it was the boys turn. Sue and Peter then took off to see the boys getting ready.  I wasn't there obviously but by looking at the photos they sure did have a fun time getting ready.  They are some of the most hilarious shots of the boys carrying on and some serious ones too of course.

My dad was a huge part of the day and Peter and Sue managed to capture some really precious moments I had with him.  Most of the photos I had no idea were even being taken and they are the best ones of them all! After the ceromony the bridal party all took off with Sue and Peter to various sights and had a good photo session.  Again we just had fun while Peter snapped away.  It was funny, my sisters and I forgot to bring glasses for the champagne so he even got a few sneeky pics of us drinking out of the bottle!!

Peter and Sue even accompanied us to the reception and took pics of the cake cutting, bridal dance and photos of each and every table.  It was such a great thank you gift to give to our guests - photos of them and their partners, families etc.  I was very impressed.

From pre wedding photos, to the morning - reception service on the day, thank you cards designed and printed out for us, a well put together coffee table style album, enlargements and my favourite is our amazing wedding DVD (makes me cry every time!)  All of this was included with our  package and i honestly couldnt have asked for any thing more!  I believe we have over 800 photos and I love looking through them.

Peter and his lovely wife Sue made our day!! Our photos are all so wonderful and capture so many great memories. One of the best things for a bride to know is that it did not feel like there were any strangers at our wedding – Peter and Sue made us all feel right at home and at ease - which I believe is the key to getting some of the best pics EVER!  They also listened to exactly what style we wanted – and they delivered.

It meant that I could focus on being the Bride and enjoying the company of our friends and family. I have many photos to share and I am happy for other brides to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
